Learn About Baby Chris at Each Stage of His Development!

Come along for an adventure with baby Chris as he grows in his mom’s womb. AFL’s new flashcards teach the next generation about the miraculous way God has knit them together! These flashcards offer an interactive opportunity for Sunday school teachers, and parents to teach children how a baby in the mother’s womb is just like them!

Each card provides an opportunity for children to learn about Chris in the “Teaching Moment Section,” on the back of each card, while adults and more mature audiences benefit from a detailed analysis and description in the “Digging Deeper,” section on the back of each card.

Sharing Chris’s development with children teaches them from a young age that all life is valuable and the only difference between a child in the womb and them, is size and location. We are one humanity, made distinct by God for His glory and purpose. Acknowledging how each person is uniquely created by God is so important in understanding why life is sacred and how destroying it is wrong.

FAQs

What's the difference between gestational age and fetal age?

The gestational age indicate the stage of the pregnancy in weeks, based on the first day of the woman’s last menstrual cycle. The fetal age is actually 10 -14 days younger. Typically, pregnant women refer to the gestational age when discussing their pregnancy.

Why did AFL stop the flashcards at weeks 17-18?

We chose to stop at 17-18 weeks for multiple reasons:

  1. First and foremost, we chose to stop at the 17-18 week mark because, at this stage, all of Chris’s organs have developed. While Chris’s continued growth is important, we thought it was important to focus on the early weeks – where Chris actually is knitted in His image. After weeks 17-18, Chris will continue to grow, but no additional organs or body parts develop.
  2. We didn’t want to overwhelm children with the number of cards.

How many card are in each pack?

Each set includes 14 double-sided flashcards – 12 of which follow Chris’s development in the womb.

How big are the cards?

Each card is 8″ x 5″ inches.
