Each week AFL posts an Anglicans in Action video, which gives practical suggestions, resources, and ideas for life-ministry. This week’s focus is pro-life movies. You can see all the Anglicans in Action videos on our YouTube Channel.
With the spring season blossoming, it is a great time of year to invite people out of their homes to view a life-affirming movie! So this week’s action idea is to host a pro-life movie night at your church! It can be a fun, and engaging way to begin a dialogue with friends and family about life and love. With today’s culture and late-term abortion laws being pushed AND passed by many states, this could be a great way to educate the people of your Church about the sanctity of human life. Many times, conversations will naturally arise about this normally controversial topic since you’re in a non-confrontational setting.
To help, we have compiled a list of movies with pro-life themes that can be used to spark meaningful conversations about the inherent dignity of the human person. Please note that the ratings on this movie list vary, so please choose an age-appropriate movie for the group that you are hoping will attend!
If you don’t want to host a movie night, you can take a group to see a newly released film in theaters (like Unplanned), or you can purchase movies that are already on DVD so they can be borrowed from your Church library.
So our action idea for this week is to check out our list of movies by going to our pro-life movie page. After reviewing the list, you can decide which one you’d like to show, or if you haven’t seen any on the list for yourself, take the opportunity to watch them! Links to their trailers is provided. Once you decide what movie to show and schedule your event, let us know and we’d love to feature pictures on our social media pages. Again, this is a great opportunity to raise awareness about the culture of life in a simple way that involves your community.
