Abortion

Abortion is an elective medical procedure that intentionally ends a pregnancy before the baby is born alive. In 1973 the United States Supreme Court cases Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton ruled to make abortion legal during all nine months of pregnancy.

Understanding the Types of Abortions

Partial Birth Abortion

Partial birth abortion procedures are conducted from 16 weeks through the end of the pregnancy. The abortionist uses forceps to pull the baby’s legs through the birth canal, delivering the baby’s feet, legs, and body. Scissors are then used to puncture the base at the back of the baby’s head, and a suction device is inserted into the womb to pull the baby’s brain out – enabling the skull to easily collapse – so that the baby can be removed. The 2007 Supreme Court case Gonzales v. Carhart made this procedure illegal in the United States.

RU-486

RU-486 abortions, often referred to as medical abortions, require women to take two pills at different times. The first pill ends the child’s life by blocking receptors of progesterone, a key hormone for maintaining pregnancy, and the second pill causes contractions that expel the child. However, the results of the pill can be reversed with additional medication, if taken within 72 hours of the first pill. To reverse RU-486, go to Abortion Pill Reversal or call 877-558-0333 as soon as possible.

Common Concerns Used to Justify Abortions

Down Syndrome

Trisomy 21, also known as Down Syndrome, is a genetic disorder that stems from a full or partial third copy of the twenty-first chromosome. People with Down Syndrome usually have low muscle tone and developmental delays. With special programs and therapies, children with Down Syndrome can achieve normal milestones. Adults with Down Syndrome can also lead normal lives and often report a general sense of happiness and fulfillment. Unfortunately, when there is a prenatal diagnosis of Down Syndrome, the abortion rate is over 90%. To learn more, we recommend visiting Hope Story.

Rape and Abortion

According to the Guttmacher Institute, pregnancy that results from rape accounts for only 1% of annual abortions. Victims often report feeling more traumatized and/or violated as a result of the abortion than the rape. Abortions conducted as a response to rape end the life of an innocent child. Planned Parenthood

According to the Lozier Institute, between 2021-2022 taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood hit $670.4 million or almost $1.9 million per day making up 35% of Planned Parenthood’s overall revenue. The organization was founded by Margaret Sanger, who is a strong supporter and advocate of birth control as a means to control population. There have been numerous reports proving that Planned Parenthood supported sex selection abortions, ignored statutory rape laws, and harvested baby body parts.
