Can’t get to a March?  Why not join together with others in your community and pray!  All it takes is someone to begin with the invitation – a place, a date, a time – and to start spreading the word!  Invite clergy, laity, parishioners, friends, other brothers and sisters in Christ from other local churches in your area!  Check out our prayer for life, written specifically for the March for Life in Canada, that you can use in praying for the marches.

What you need for Sanctity of Life Sunday – May 1st, 2016
Bulletin Insert 2016

We are calling all Anglicans in Canada to join together on Sunday May 1st, 2016 to observe Sanctity of Life Sunday.  We have created a bulletin insert for you to print and share with your fellow clergy and lay folks at services nationwide.

What is Sanctity of Life Sunday?

Sanctity of Life Sunday is a day for churches of all denominations to celebrate God’s gift of life, commemorate the many lives lost to abortion, and commit themselves to protecting human life at every stage.  It is a solemn and holy opportunity to affirm the value of human life and the Church’s commitment to defending and protecting it.

Read more about Sanctity of Life Sunday and see the Prayer for Life written specifically for that day!

Gearing up for Sanctity of Life Sunday and the March for Life in Ottawa

We’re getting ready fDSC01127or the March for Life in Ottawa on May 12th, 2016.  We are ready to carry our Anglicans for Life signs and wear our bright green hats, so we can show that we as Anglicans are marching together to celebrate, protect, and honour life!  IMG_0554

We are also excited to share that, even if  you cannot join with us in Ottawa for the March, you can still affirm and speak out for life in your churches and parishes.  Sunday May 1st, 2016 will mark Sanctity of Life Sunday, a day to celebrate God’s gift of life, honour the many lives lost to abortion, and commit ourselves to protecting human life at every stage.  We have created a bulletin insert to help your church observe this day.  We encourage you to print these out and share with your church.

Christmas Greetings from the National Director – December 2015 Anglicans for Life Canada Newsletter

It’s far too easy to forget that the figures in the crèche were real human beings, just like you and me! Their story is a difficult one – an unplanned holy familypregnancy on their part— who would have believed them when they spoke of Immaculate Conception! Forced by an oppressive government to leave their hometown—even though the baby was soon due—and journey by foot (and donkey) across the harsh terrain to the hometown of their ancestors—not to be greeted by family, but to simply be ‘counted’ in the Roman census. From a human point of view, they were homeless and alone!

But, that’s only part of their story! For, beyond anyone’s understanding and imagining, Almighty God really was at work—breaking into time and space— to be birthed into the world – Emmanuel—God with Us. His name would be Jesus, and His life, death, resurrection and ascension would fulfill the promise of salvation to all peoples!

Introducing – Project Life Canada

logo for printMany of us are now becoming aware of the growing news story in the United States, exposing Planned Parenthood for harvesting the organs and tissue of aborted children. And in February of this year our Supreme Court overturned the existing law prohibiting assisted suicide, leaving our elderly and vulnerable at risk. These stories are disturbing and distressing—but they also serve to remind us that life issues are not just philosophical debates about when life begins or ends, nor are they political issues to be debated amongst our elected officials. We, as the Church in Canada, need to be informed and ready to act on life issues in our congregations and communities.

Anglicans for Life Canada has produced a new version of the US series Project Life to help meet this need. Project Life is an eight-week, DVD, Christian education series produced by Anglicans for Life Canada. This series gives a comprehensive snapshot of life issues and how Christians can make a difference for life.
